Matthew Stevenson is a troubled kid from a broken home. He vandalizes the local church to get back at his parents and has to repair the damage to avoid criminal charges. Matthew meets Ernest, a wood carver, while working at the church. Together, they work to preserve the church's beautiful antiquity and they also manage to restore their faith in God and in life along the way.
