In THE BIG TRAIN TRIP, viewers will learn everything that goes into accomplishing a cross-country train journey. Starting with a night spent at the Royal York Hotel in Toronto Canada, the program continues with all the different crew members involved in a trip on a passenger train across Canada and through the Rocky Mountains. The program shows what each type of crew member does to prepare for departure. Then it's time for the ride! THE BIG TRAIN TRIP takes place on the trans-Canadian Railway, and takes the viewer on a lush 2,800 mile journey through the beautiful Canadian countryside. With stops in several major cities including Winnipeg and Edmonton, its final destination is Vancouver. During the trip viewers will see Mount Robson, the tallest peak in all of Canada, as well as cross the continental divide. After arrival, the maintenance crew on the big diesel engine and the passenger cars show you what it takes to get ready for the return trip! THE BIG TRAIN TRIP is a fun learning experience designed for children, but presented in such a way that it can be both enjoyable and informative for adults as well!
