Thirteen-year-old Quebecois pianist Daniel Clarke Bouchard presents his first solo CD for ATMA and is already well known on the Montreal music scene. He performs a carefully selected program of works by Mendelssohn, Schubert and Beethoven, and includes an improvisation on Mozart's Piano Variations on Ah vous dirai-je, Maman, played on two pianos by Bouchard and his mentor, famed jazz pianist Oliver Jones. First-prize winner in his age category at the 2011 Canadian Music Competition, Bouchard has also received scholarships from Yamaha, Canimex and Gilles Chatel. As first-prize winner of the Bradshaw and Buono International Piano Competition, he was invited to play at Carnegie Hall. Last February he appeared with the Orchestre Metropolitain at the Montreal en Lumiere festival.
