These episodes focus less on the plot and more on the characters of this popular adventure-comedy. When she overhears Megumi criticize her, the childish Reiko feels she's not contributing to the AEGIS team's work. She bungles her effort to pilot the Gate Robot but ends up saving the day. Fei finds an unlikely substitute for the grandfather she lost in China--and discovers a monstrous canine Invader. An increasing number of Invaders are infiltrating the Earth by replacing individual humans, and Japan shows the highest level of Invader activity. A maniacal replacement attacks the Commander of Shun's AEGIS squadron, which gives his secretary Miss Ochiai a chance to show her mettle, if not reveal her affection. The increasing presence of Yukino, the mysterious psychic of the snows, suggests she will play a key role in the struggle against the Invaders.
