The Pied Piper of Hamelin: When rats fleeing a flood invade the tiny Bavarian town oh Hamelin a magical piper (Van Johnson) strikes a bargain to get rid of them. Once the rats are gone the Mayor (Claude Rains) and town council refuse to pay the piper, so he uses his music that only youngsters and rats can hear to lure all of the town's children his home behind a mountain wall. The Inspector General: Illiterate gypsy Georgi (Danny Kaye) bungles his job with a traveling medicine show and wanders into a strange town where he is picked up on a vagrancy charge. But when the town's corrupt officials mistake him for the Emperor Napoleon's inspector general, they release him and make several inept attempts at killing him. Royal Wedding: When the Bowen siblings' dance show closes in New York, their agent books them to perform in London. On the trip both Tom (Fred Astaire) and Ellen (Jane Powell) find romance, and have to decide if now is finally the time that true love comes before their partnership. This film features many of Astaire's most memorable dance scenes, including with a coat rack for a partnerm he and Powell hoofing along as the ship rolls, and his dance on the walls and ceilling of his hotel room.
