`Consequence Music' is the debut album of Scottish newcomer Ewan Mackenzie. Blending the organic with the electronic, the largely instrumental album aspires to the windswept upper slopes where Sigur Ros or Mogwai might pitch camp. The results are beautifully structured, highly melodic and richly layered electronica that - while making nods to heroes Brian Eno, Neu and Phillip Glass and more contemporary artists such as Ulrich Schnauss and Boards Of Canada - is distinctly Mackenzie's own.
