THE STRANGER: Ben Cartwright's political political plans to run for governor of Nevada are abandoned when a stranger arrives in Virginia City. The stranger, a police inspector is obsessed with taking Ben back to New Orleans to face a murder charge dating back twenty years - a charge that Ben says he was cleared of. But when Little Joe is arrested for murder, and the only way of clearing him is for Ben to surrender to the police inspector, Ben agrees to return with him to New Orleans and stand trial. Along the way, Ben realizes that the inspector has a hatered for him, and that he has no intentions of allowing Ben to reach their destination alive. THE AVENGER: Ben and Adam are in jail waiting to get hanged for a murder they didn't commit while Hoss and little Joe are trying to gather signatures on a petition to overturn the guilty conviction. With time running out, they don't get much cooperation from the local town folk, including the daughter of the man Ben and Adam are accused of killing. Hoss and Little Joe are prepared to shoot it out to save their father and brother Adam as a stranger rides in to town searching for the men responsible for hanging his father. He proves to be the one person who can help Ben and Adam.
