Blood on the Land - Scavenging sheep herder Jeb Drummond (Everett Sloane) is ready to start a range war in order to take his flock across the Penderosa, and doesn't mind bushwhacking a few Cartwright's or taking one as a hostage. 3.) Bitter Water - This episode finds the Cartwrights at odds with a neighbor who is planning to sell out to a miner, because he thinks there may be silver on his land, but mining there will poison half the cattle roaming on the Penderosa. 4.) The Avenger - Ben and Adam are about to be hanged for a murder to which the only living witness is the dead man's daughter, so it's up to ?Hoss and Little Joe to save them. Vic Monrow guest stars as a pistol-packing stranger. 5.) Death at Dawn - Powerful mining boss Sam Bryant (Robert Middleton) tries to take over the town and Gregory Walcott guest stars as Farmer Perkins, who commits brazen murder on his orders with Hoss and Joe as witnesses.
