Le Jour des corneilles est un film d'animation issu d'une coproduction entre la France, la Belgique, le Luxembourg et le Canada. Using hand-drawn techniques, this is an animated adaptation of a novel by Québécois writer Jean-François Beauchemin. The story focuses on the ogre-like Courge (Jean Reno) who is raising his semi-feral young son (Lorànt Deutsch) in an isolated forest hut. The boy has been raised in ignorance and fear about the mysterious 'World Beyond'. But after his father is badly injured, he has to venture outside the forest for help. Encountering civilization in a rural village, this undomesticated boy seeks help from the local doctor (Claude Chabrol) and is given a crash-course in "normal" living by the doctor's young daughter Manon (Isabelle Carré).
