A celebration of life , love, acceptance and family, Food For the Heart is a sweet romantic comedy about two best friends, Delmar (Jorja Fox) and Hortense (Suzanne Mora), whose culinary talents and gift for hospitality leads the two women to host evenings of love and laughter with an eccentric circle of half-baked family and friends. Delmar's dream is to open a restaurant, a reality deterred by a lack of money. Hortense believes she will make Stanley (Paul Provenza) the perfect wife, but his sole ambition is to make partners, after which he promises to give her a ring. In an effort to please his boss (Michael Des Barres) and make law partner, Stanley brings Delmar an offer that rocks her soul and enables her to earn enough money to open the restaurant. But as life sometimes does, nothing goes as planned and yet everything happens as it should. With the help of her newfound friend Moses (Bill Nunn), Delmar opens the restaurant with everyone on hand. Stanley makes partner, but will he ask Hortense to marry him or has she found someone else? And no one is prepared for the wonderful surprise that changes everyone's lives...
